The Best in Everyone Awards are United Learning’s national celebration of the exceptional achievements, talents and character of students and staff across all United Learning schools. First held in 2013, these awards highlight the accomplishments, commitment, and resilience of individuals who truly represent the Trust’s ethos of bringing out “the best in everyone.”

KIDS GO FREE BY BUS THIS AUGUST
As part of a Government initiative, children aged 5 to 15 will travel for free on any participating local bus in August. This offer runs in addition to the £3 single fare cap and the £1 after 6pm single fare.
Now there’s even more reasons to get out by bus to local attractions this August. For example, a family of 2 adults and 2 children, can travel from Southampton to Paulton’s Park on the X7/X7R for only £6 each way!
Southampton also has wealth of great things to see and do this August. Whether it’s a spot of retail therapy at West Quay, a bite to eat at the many restaurants, to catch the latest films at Showcase Cinema or walk the historic city walls, in addition to kids go free, adults can travel by bus for only £2.60 single within the Southampton zone or £1 after 6pm.
Leave the car at home this August and catch the bus instead, it’s much less fuss by bus!

🏅 DUKE OF EDINBURGH SILVER ASSESSED EXPEDITION 🏅
From 13th - 15th July, our Silver Duke of Edinburgh participants successfully completed their assessed expedition on the Isle of Wight.
Over three days, students navigated independently across challenging coastal and countryside routes, carrying all their equipment, preparing their own meals, and camping overnight. Despite the demanding terrain, including some steep climbs and long days of walking, they demonstrated excellent resilience, teamwork, navigation skills and determination throughout.
We are incredibly proud of the positive attitude, maturity and perseverance shown by all students. A huge thank you also goes to the staff who supported the expedition and helped make the experience such a success.

RACE TO THE LINE CHALLENGE 🛻⚡
Our Year 7 students have been putting their engineering and design skills to the test in the exciting 'Race to the Line' project. Working in teams, they designed and built miniature racing cars powered by carbon dioxide (CO₂) canisters, learning about aerodynamics, manufacturing and problem-solving along the way. The project culminated in a thrilling race day, where students competed to see whose car could reach the finish line first. We are incredibly grateful to Stannah, our project sponsors, for their support in helping inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators.
