
Dave has been a governor at Regents Park for 13 years in various roles, currently he is Chair of the Governing Board. He has a particular interest in the future careers of our students and is the Link Governor for Careers, PSHE & NEETS. Dave’s working life started in the British Army straight from school followed by over 30 years working for BT. In addition to the governing board, he also enjoys his role as a Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Supervisor and gets to camp out and trek through our great countryside with the Regents Park students on their bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Jon is an experienced school governor and Vice Chair of the board and he has a strong commercial background. Jon excels in strategic planning and policy development, focusing on enhancing school performance and fostering inclusive environments. Jon holds a key role as the Link Governor for Health and Safety, ensuring that the school’s practices meet stringent safety standards and promote student well-being. His collaborative approach with educators, parents and the community, drives continuous improvement and upholds high educational standards, making him an invaluable asset to the school’s governing body.

Ian has been on the Governing Board, appointed by the Local Authority, since 2012 and is currently the Safeguarding Governor and Finance Link Governor. He has similar roles in other schools, including an all though Primary School in Portsmouth. Ian is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and a trainer for hypnotherapists to be in practice and to be supervisors. Ian is a former National Leader of Governance, where he helped failing schools to reach their potential though good governance. Ian is a Fellow of the IWFM and a Fellow of the RSA.

Debbie has a wide ranging background in the development of inclusive education provision for vulnerable children and young people across the city of Southampton. She has many years’ experience gained within a Local Authority, a Further Education College and the last 12 years within alternative provision. Debbie is the Headteacher of Compass School, which is a pupil referral unit [PRU] in Southampton. She is committed to ensuring that pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs are able to participate fully in education to gain a range of skills to equip them for their next steps. Debbie joined the board of governors at Regents Park in May 2023.

Elaine is a Parent Governor who joined the board in September 2023. She has 3 children, all boys, two of which have completed their education and one presently in Year 7. Elaine is a retired nurse who wished to become a governor, as she thinks it’s important to give back to her local community. Elaine feel’s now more than ever, how important it is to get education right for all of our children. She lives locally and thinks that it is important that RPCC has a good relationship with the local community. Elaine is the Wellbeing Link.

Kelly has been a staff member since February 2022 and appointed a governor at RPCC during January 2024. Kelly has 3 sons in education, one in Year 11, one in college and a fresh faced Year 7. Kelly’s background is predominately accounting, data and exams. Kelly also fully supports and believes in an education for all and our community ethos.

Aubree Slavik joins Regents Park as a Co-opt Governor. She brings many years of experience in public, private, and museum classrooms in both the USA and UK. Aubree was Academic Dean for the first virtual International Baccalaureate programme in the US and has been recognised by her school communities for technology innovation. She currently serves as the EDI Project Administrator for the Cornerstone Photonics Innovation Centre at the University of Southampton. Creativity and inclusivity drive her work – whether designing impactful training interventions, leading engagement initiatives, or transforming complex data into compelling stories for the public. When she is not in the office or the classroom, Aubree enjoys creating in her studio or paddleboarding with her sausage dog, Oliver.

Matthew joined as a Parent Governor in March 2025 and is an experienced governor, having previously been a governor at Shirley Infant and Junior Schools. Matthew is a social worker and has worked in Southampton and Hampshire for over 18 years. He has worked therapeutically with children at the NSPCC, children with disabilities and within adoption. Through his work, Matthew has good knowledge and understanding of the impacts of abuse and trauma for children and those who care for them. He is keen to help children feel safe, for them to want to come to school, and to be able learn in a way that meets their needs.
