Staff Testimonials

I have been a member of staff at Regents Park Community College for nearly 23 years.  I was a student here also, so I feel as if I have never left. I have held many different jobs within the school, but the one that I am most passionate about, is the role that I am in now as Head of Year Support. The job is very varied and no two days are ever the same.  I work very closely with many outside agencies, with whom we refer in to.  I also have a medical background and I like to keep up with my first aid training, which enables me to help out in other ways. I enjoy listening and speaking with my year group and will quite often unpick problems and find a way to help them out. All in all, being part of the pastoral team at Regents Park is a nice place to be and we all support each other.

Miss Moore

Head of Year 10 Support

I have been a member of the Regents Park Community College pastoral team for nearly 24 years and have worked a variety of roles within my time here.  One of the things I enjoy here is the teamwork.  In addition, I have been a pupil here many years ago and a parent so a large part of my life both as an adult and a child are connected to this school.  Watching the community grow and develop has been a real pleasure and to also work along great members of staff.  I am very grateful for the opportunities and experiences the school has given me over the years.  I have been able to grow in many ways and enhance my skill set.

Mrs Jarvis

Head of Year 11 Support

I have been a member of staff at Regents Park Community College for 20 years having trained as an ITT and completed my NQT year here.  I have held many different roles during my time, having started out as the Literacy Across the School Coordinator then moving into Middle Leadership through my promotion to Subject Leader for History.  Following a curriculum restructure, I was appointed as Curriculum leader for Humanities and following a further restructure, to the position I currently hold of Curriculum Leader for Social Sciences. Regents Park has undergone many changes in my time – the big one being the move from an all-girls school to a co-educational setting, which involved the name changing form Regents Park Girls School to the current name of Regents Park Community College.  This change led to an even more vibrant and diverse community. This is a great place to work and I am proud of my continued role at this school. Regents Park is not just a school, it is a community and I am proud to serve in it.

Mrs Blake

Curriculum Leader of Social Sciences

Since starting here in September 2024, I have found Regents Park to be a warm and encouraging community, of dedicated staff, students and families.  I have felt very welcomed and supported in my new role: respected as a professional and valued as a member of the team.  Walking around the school, you can clearly see the culture of positive relationships between our staff and our students, who know and appreciate that we all have their very best interests at heart.  Combining this with an ethos of challenge and creativity means that students value the effort and commitment shown by their teachers to also give them the best learning opportunities.  Working with such wonderful students and seeing them progress in both their academic and personal development, is a real privilege and a huge testament to the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff that work here.  I am proud to work in such a collaborative and supportive environment.

Miss Holloway

Curriculum Leader of Creative Arts

I have only been part of the Regents Park pastoral team for 6 months now, but already I feel part of a family.  I am the on call support, meaning that I collect students who are struggling in class for a number of reasons, mainly emotional or behavioural.  It is a high demanding job, and I am expected to be dealing with on the spot situations. That being said, the young people at the school make it all worthwhile. We have a diverse student community, with varied abilities of learning. The Head of Year Support Team work with these students to help make school life more accessible and a comfortable environment to learn in, as well as supporting students with their emotional and welfare needs.  This is something I, and the pastoral team, are passionate about. I look forward too many years of working with the support staff & teachers, they are the glue that holds the school community together.  They are a friendly and supportive team, always willing to help and go the extra mile for the students of Regents Park.

Mr Blandford

Head of Year – On Call Support

I have had the privilege of working at Regents Park Community College for the past six years and my journey has been incredibly fulfilling.  I began my career here as a cover supervisor and with the school’s support, I progressed to an unqualified teacher.  In true Regents Park fashion, I was encouraged to grow further, which enabled me to become a fully qualified teacher.  I am now currently an ECT here. Regents Park is more than just a workplace, it is a community dedicated to the growth and wellbeing of both its staff and students.  Our ethos underpins our commitment to nurturing and valuing our young people and it is at the heart of everything we do.  This environment fosters a culture of respect, pride, creativity, and challenge, prioritising academic success, emotional well-being, and personal growth.  Being part of a team that emphasises student-centered values has profoundly enriched my professional experience.  The warmth and inclusivity at Regents Park create an atmosphere, where each student’s potential is nurtured, making it an exceptional place to work and learn.

Miss Baillie

Social Sciences Teacher

I joined Regents Park Community College in September 2023 as an ECT 1. I am lucky enough to teach the students at Regents Park the joy of being creative. I teach KS3 Art and Textiles and KS4 Photography. It’s a joy to get to pass my passion for Photography down to my students and see them thrive in their Photography GCSE and photograph beautiful pieces. Our students get the opportunity to use industry standard equipment including: DSLR, Photoshop and studio lighting. Working at Regents Park is not just about providing excellent learning and pushing your student to have the best outcomes in your lesson, it’s also about nurturing and supporting your students to become the best versions of themselves and creative a safe and open place for students to ask for help when needed.

Miss Cole

Creative Arts Teacher

I have worked at Regents Park for eight years; I have stayed here since my training year! My roles as English teacher, Year 9 tutor and member of the Teaching and Learning Team have given me vast opportunities to develop in multiple skills and have provided me with a rich and varied career so far. I support students academically, as well as emotionally – this is a major strength that can be said of the whole team here. Regents Park is a diverse and inclusive community and there is a real cohesion between staff who consistently put the students first and care a great deal about the young people we work with. At Regents Park, we love to challenge our students to help them achieve their best academically. But our community is about much more than this alone. We care about them becoming kind, respectful and independent individuals who are prepared for the challenges of life too. One of my favourite things about our school is that we are a relatively small community, which allows our students to be nurtured and well understood by the staff supporting them. Long may we uphold those values of Respect, Pride, Creativity and Challenge!

Miss Fison

English Teacher

I joined Regents Park in September 2024 and as an ECT. I can confidently say that I feel well-supported, not only by my mentor and induction mentor, but also by all of the other members of staff here. One thing I felt instantly upon joining Regents Park, was the sense of togetherness and belonging. There is truly a sense of community that defines the school. As a new member of staff, I have been warmly welcomed and already feel like a valued part of the Regents Park community. What I find most rewarding as a Spanish and French teacher, is watching students express themselves and progress in a completely new language. It’s a real joy to see them gain confidence, overcome challenges and embrace the creativity involved in language learning. I feel that the school’s ethos – respect, pride, creativity and challenge, really allows for a positive and inspiring environment, in which students are pushed to thrive in the classroom.

Miss Gurung

Languages Teacher

My connection to Regents Park Community College began as a student many years ago, before I started working here in 2007 as a cover supervisor. This position gave me the opportunity to see the hard work and commitment the staff provide to their students on a daily basis. In 2019, after having children of my own, I returned once again as a cover supervisor, but this time with the passion and drive to go back to university to study for my degree. The sense of community and support given by the staff at Regents Park made this an exciting opportunity. My hard work paid off and I was delighted to have been offered the chance to complete my initial teacher training here, which led me to secure my first teaching post as a member of the English department this September. Working at Regents Park is about inclusivity and community, a place where all can thrive. Teaching here, no two days are ever the same but watching the students grow and learn new skills every day, is something that will never get old.
