School Closed: 2nd November 2023

Dear Parents

I am writing to inform you that the school will be closed tomorrow due to the potential dangers of Storm Ciaran. The Local Authority has been in emergency meetings all morning and has confirmed a major incident which requires all schools to close. We also have an additional danger, as our school building currently has a huge amount of scaffolding in place around the main building due to our ongoing school improvement. 

Work for students will be provided on the Google Classroom platform and we strongly suggest that students follow their normal timetable for the day. Additionally our Year 10 Parents Evening will be cancelled but staff will be calling parents during their allocated, slot so please ensure your phone is available to receive this call. Remote appointments will go ahead as scheduled. 

I am sorry that this will cause some families an unexpected level of disruption but ensuring our community is safe will always be the most important consideration. We hope that once the storm has passed we will be able to open the school as normal on Friday. The site team will do a check to ensure there is no damage and that the site is safe. We will update parents with any other information as soon as we can.
