Suspicious Incidents Update
Please be aware that Hampshire Constabulary continue to keep us updated as a school on their investigations into suspicious incidents that have occurred in the Southampton community.
More recently, these incidents have occurred in the Southampton, Hedge End and Bursledon areas. We can therefore be somewhat reassured they are distanced from our immediate school community and environment.
Police are looking into the accounts that have been reported, and if they are related. They are following up on all reports they receive.
At present we do not feel students from Regents Park are at any immediate risk. That said, we encourage and urge all students and families to be vigilant and safe in their journey to and from school, and to ideally travel with friends or family where they can.
Hampshire Police want to reiterate that no young person has been hurt or been involved in getting into any vehicle in relation to these suspicious incidents. It is important to stay alert but not alarmed, and to remind children that they should not get into anyone’s car, or go with anyone they do not know, and to report any incident to the police and school as soon as possible.
Please can you also remind students at this time of year to be especially cautious and safe when the evenings become dark more quickly. Please discuss with your child the importance of keeping themselves safe and visible when travelling, especially near roads or if they are cycling.
