📚 SUMMER READING CHALLENGE📚
As the summer holidays approach, we would like to encourage all families to keep reading over the break and take part in the Summer Reading Challenge at Southampton Libraries.
The challenge is a fantastic way to help children and young people maintain their reading skills, discover new books and enjoy reading for pleasure throughout the summer.

We would also like to remind parents and carers that students are welcome to borrow books from our School Library to read over the summer holidays. In addition, students have access to a wide range of e-books and audiobooks via the E-Platform, which can be accessed through Google Classroom.

MATT OLDFIELD VISITS RPCC ✨
We are delighted that Matt Oldfield, author of the extremely popular Ultimate Football Heroes series, will be visiting us on Tuesday 14th July. Matt's visit is timed perfectly to coincide with the World Cup and is part of our National Year of Reading celebrations. During his visit, he will be selling signed copies of his books in the Library at a cost of £6 each. Please ensure you send your child with cash if they would like to buy one.

NATIONAL SATURDAY CLUB PROGRAMME 💫
The National Saturday Club is an established UK-wide network, that gives 13—16-year-olds the unique opportunity to study subjects they love for FREE, on a Saturday at their local university, college or cultural institution. The Club provides a welcoming space for young people to build their skills, develop their confidence, and discover pathways to further study and future creative careers.

OXFORD DREAMS & INSPIRING FUTURES! 🎓✨
Yesterday, our Inspire Scholars enjoyed an unforgettable visit to the University of Oxford, gaining a valuable insight into one of the world's most prestigious universities.
The day began with an introduction to Oxford, followed by a guided tour of the university and an engaging Q&A session. Students had the opportunity to learn more about university life, academic pathways and the exciting opportunities that higher education can offer.
Scholars also explored the fascinating Pitt Rivers Museum, discovering an incredible collection of historical and cultural artefacts from around the world.
It was a truly inspiring experience, encouraging our students to think ambitiously about their futures and the possibilities that lie ahead. 🌟

🏆 YEAR 7, 8 & 9 SPORTS DAY 🏆
Yesterday, our Year 7, 8 and 9 students enjoyed an action-packed Sports Day, taking part in a fantastic range of activities including dance, dodgeball, capture the flag, pickleball, Taekwondo, water polo and table tennis.
It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, trying new sports, working together and demonstrating excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success! 👏🌟

🥾 BRONZE DOFE ASSESSED EXPEDITION SUCCESS! 🌟
On 3rd & 4th July, our Year 9 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award students completed their assessed expedition in the New Forest. Over two days, students demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, navigation skills and independence while covering approximately 24km.
We are incredibly proud of their determination and positive attitude throughout the challenge.
Well done to all students and thank you to the staff who supported the expedition! 👏🏕️🗺️

SOUTHAMPTON COLLEGE TASTER DAY
Yesterday our amazing Year 10 students visited Southampton College for a taster of what vocational education is like. It was a really successful day with a range of different subjects on offer; Art, Beauty, Childcare, Engineering, Forensics, Games Design, Hairdressing, Hospitality, Maritime, Motor Vehicle, Painting, Photography, Production Arts and Theatrical Makeup. Highlights from the day were the crime scene car that had to be investigated and all the "injuries" that students were able to create using make up. Brilliant work yet again from our talented students, who are now looking forward to their next taster day on Thursday.
