Physical Education (PE)
The physical education curriculum area is a successful department that prides itself upon delivering fantastic learning opportunities for all students. Underpinned by an ethos built upon high expectations linked to behaviour for learning, respect and fun, students make outstanding progress. Enthusiastic practitioners empower students to, develop their performance; understanding and ability to work with others effectively and foster appreciation for an active and healthy lifestyle.
We pride ourselves on developing a curriculum map which supports and challenges all students. The team are also passionate about intra-school sport and developing talented leaders through our ‘PE Champion’ programme. At least once every half term students will participate in inter-tutor group competitions, which include dodgeball and football. We have enrichment days to prepare students effectively for competitions against other schools, our prestigious swim gala and sports day where by all students are involved in a variety of events including traditional athletics, rounders and our alternative ‘Olympics’ competition.
Last but not least students are given the chance to participate in the prestigious ‘Rock Challenge’ entry which takes place annually and experiences great success.
In order to prepare for your BTEC Sport exam as effectively as possible we have provided you with a variety of different practice exams.
