Training School
Regents Park Community College, one of only 168 DfES Training Schools in England, was granted Training School status by the DfES in September 2000. The main aim of this Training School initiative is to train teachers who will be able to meet the challenging needs of learners through promotion of achievement and success for all, within an inclusive learning environment.
In partnership with the University of Southampton the trainee teachers are based at Regents Park and are undergoing part of their teaching and training at other city schools, and Tauntons College (VIth Form College). Trainees also observe and investigate work done by Southampton Pupils Support Services and take an Anger Management course led by Southampton Educational Psychology Service.
