We would like to remind you that Wednesday 6th July 2010 is our Induction Day for students joining us in September. We are really looking forward to welcoming the new students on this day and hope they will find it enjoyable and rewarding.
Students should arrive at 9:00am in their primary/junior school uniform. The purpose of the day is for students to get an experience of what it will be like at secondary school, to meet some of the teachers and support staff at the college and to begin to make new friends with other new students.
During the day the students will get to look around the site and experience lessons in different parts of the college. Some of these lessons will be English, Maths, Humanities, Creative Arts and Enterprise. They will be given a “Kick Start Guide to work through and set themselves their first targets at Regents Park.
Students should bring with them, a pen and a pencil to write with, and a packed lunch. There will not be an opportunity for them to buy any food or drink while they are here, so they must bring with them everything they will need for the day. Packed lunches will be provided for those students who receive free school meals at their primary school. The day will end at 2.15pm where students can be met at the gates or make their own way home.
John Lewis will be available at 2pm to sell uniform in the Conference Room. Parents can also collect ordered uniform from the school at that time, however please be aware that we will not have the rugby shirts available from the suppliers until the last week of August.
Should you have any questions regarding this day, please feel free to contact Mr Strange, KS2/3 Learning & Progress Leader.
