Enterprise Education

Enterprise Education at KS3.

Enterprise Education is taught for 1 lesson per week as an integral part of the KS3 curriculum. We aim to develop enterprise capability in students, their ability to apply enterprise skills, attitudes and values such as self awareness, self confidence, creativity, initiative, risk taking, communication, problem solving and team work in a range of social and economic contexts.

The rationale for teaching enterprise and entrepreneurial skills has developed due to changing patterns of work. Given an uncertain future, students need to develop a core of key transferable skills which will help them to become active, enterprising and responsible members of society. Many young people will consider self-employment at some point in their working lives. Students should therefore develop the skills and attitudes that will prepare them for this as a career option.
